PhD Programme in Quantitative Methods for Economics, Environment and Health University of Foggia.

The Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, together with the Department of Economics of the University of Foggia, is pleased to announce a two-day workshop dedicated to topical dosage forms, organized within the framework of the PhD Programme in Quantitative Methods for Economics, Environment and Health, coordinated by Prof. Luca Grilli.

The event is promoted in collaboration with Gattefossé, which has supported the programme through the funding of a PhD scholarship, and represents an opportunity to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between pharmaceutical sciences, economics, and regulatory aspects of the healthcare sector.

The workshop will take place over two days and will combine theoretical sessions with hands-on laboratory activities, offering participants a comprehensive overview of both scientific and market-related aspects of pharmaceutical excipients and formulations.

Programme overview

  • Day 1 – June 30 (10:00–15:00)
    Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Foggia
    The first day will focus on pharmaceutical and formulation aspects, including:

    Introduction to Gattefossé and its activities
    Formulation of skin-friendly textures to improve patient adherence
    Practical laboratory session on the use of pharmaceutical excipients
    Interactive discussion and debriefing session
  • Day 2 – July 1 (10:00–13:00)
    Department of Economics, University of Foggia
    The second day will address economic and regulatory perspectives, including:

    Overview of the pharmaceutical and excipients market
    Basics of regulatory affairs for pharmaceutical excipients
    Presentation of PhD projects developed in collaboration with Gattefossé
    Final round table and closing remarks
